Henrik Linder, Sustainability Manager at Resurs answers three questions.
2022-09-23
1. In what way is sustainability an important issue for you at Resurs?
Sustainabilityis absolutely central to us at Resurs as it is integrated and linked to the core of our business and operations. Our new sustainability strategy is based on five priority focus areas where Ethical and Responsible Business is the foundation and a core from which we then work on Sustainable Lending, Environment, Social Responsibility and Sustainable Employees. Each focus area is translated into concrete targets and KPIs to ensure that we operate in a sustainable and responsible manner, striving to create value for our customers, partners, owners and employees.
The development among customers and partners, where we see an increased focus on sustainability issues in general, is very positive and something that inspires us to constantly evolve. Our ambition is to drive developments in the industry with a focus on an inclusive and responsible credit market and to inspire customers and individuals to make sustainable choices that will be good for both their wallets and the environment in the long term.
2. What knowledge about sustainability is important to have if you work for your company?
Different kinds of knowledgeareneeded, of course, but a base of broad sustainability expertise combined with a passionate interest in creating balance in people's daily lives and personal finances is key. Knowledge and tools to put strategies and focus areas into practice are probably most important to create value for our clients. Sustainability must not be a sideshow but integrated into the business to be relevant and drive both ourselves and the industry forward in a positive direction.
3. What is the focus for you at Resurs in the area of sustainability in the near future and why?
There is a lot happening in this area rightnow which is both inspiring and important for several reasons. We are clearly increasing the pace of our sustainability work and in addition to continuously looking for even more partners who can join us in offering customers sustainable financing solutions in areas such as energy improvements, the focus in the near future is on four priority areas:
1. Youth & Finance is an important area where we are currently working to prioritise activities and solutions with the aim of supporting young people in the area of personal finance in various ways. This could be by listening even better to needs, ensuring that we can meet the target group with better tools and products, adapting communication, etc. We clearly see that young people need even better tools and knowledge to manage their personal finances in a good way going forward.
2. We will soon launch My Economy, an interactive e-learning focused on everyday finances that we will offer to everyone with the aim of getting an even better grip on budgeting, saving, insurance, loans, buying on instalments etc. Creating balance in people's daily lives is an important goal and we will also look at other potential tools in this area in the future.
3. The work to support and comply with current and future regulations is important for several reasons. The Taxonomy Regulation and the forthcoming human rights regulation are two concrete examples that are relevant and promote developments that are positive for us and the industry.
Meeting the future needs for increased circular consumption is incredibly important right now and the focus is on developing and delivering products and services that can enable just that. Concrete examples are solutions in subscriptions and subscription services where the benefits include extended product lifecycles and increased focus on reuse and recycling.
