Helena Hagberg, Head of Sustainability at Skandia answers three questions.

1. Hi Helena, 2022 is here and the EU Taxonomy has partially entered into force.
What is the focus for you at Skandia?
Inour management, we are looking for opportunities to direct our investments to finance companies or projects that contribute to sustainable development.
Our financing of the Region Stockholm Health Bond to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes is an important example. After just six months, the initiative has meant that 43% of the first 210 participants are no longer at risk of type 2 diabetes.
We are also continuing to develop our investments in line with the Climate Roadmap that we decided on two years ago with the aim of continuously reducing the share of investments in fossil fuels and scaling up investments in climate transition.
2. At Skandia, you have invested extensively in training your staff in 2021, what impact do you want to achieve with this major training effort?
Iam very impressed with the effort we have made, where nearly 600 employees have attended Financial Competence Sustainability Training, focusing on those who meet our customers, those who develop our products and leaders in different parts of the business.
It gives us all a common baseline understanding of the developments taking place and complements well our own sustainability training and awareness raising efforts.
3. In addition to climate and environmental issues, what other areas of sustainability will Skandia focus on in 2022 and why?
Thereis a lot going on where health is a key issue in our work both in our investments and in our insurance.
A real gem is Skandia's preventive health insurance, which is activated when our customers' employees are at risk of becoming ill. Together with our customers, we have more than halved sick leave in our client companies.
