2022-05-05
1. Hi Filippa, we are almost halfway through 2022. The world started to return to a daily life without restrictions, then the focus shifted to the war and its tragedy in Ukraine.
How has all this affected Magnolia's work on sustainable development?
The state of theworld affects us all and, in addition to the Corona pandemic, our thoughts turn to the victims of the terrible war in Ukraine that is going on right now. In today's situation and society, sustainable community development is more important than ever!
We at Magnolia Residential have chosen to support the children who are vulnerable in the war and have the right to a safe future. We have donated a starting sum to Save the Children and for every krona our employees donate, the company doubles.
For us as a company, it's about showing our support and continuing to develop our work with sustainable community development. Magnolia Bostad's overall focus for its sustainability work is to be at the forefront of sustainable community development, to be involved in driving the construction and real estate industry towards climate neutrality and to be an attractive employer.
2. You have recently launched a training initiative together with Sustademy, what impact do you want to achieve with it?
Todaysustainability is an important issue for everyone and we want to raise the level of knowledge, spread inspiration and raise awareness. Education and transparency on climate, environment, social issues, business ethics and financial sustainability are essential for us to fully integrate sustainability into our work. We want to enable buyers and tenants to make a sustainable conscious choice by choosing our homes.
Through the training initiative with Sustademy, we are highlighting a range of key areas that fall within the responsibilities we work on and issues that are essential to us. We look forward to following up on the results of the training initiative we have recently launched with Sustademy.
3. What is the focus for Magnolia in the area of sustainability for the remainder of 2022 and why?
Sustainabilityis a crucial building block of our business plan and in 2022 the focus is now to, among other things, further develop our climate roadmap towards climate neutrality. Alongside this, we are participating in an innovative pilot project for proactive climate calculations. In our 2021 Annual Report we describe in more detail what we intend to focus on in all sustainability responsibilities now in 2022: https://om.magnoliabostad.se/sites/default/files/pr/202203312432-1.pdf
